Thank You Staff! from the Board of Directors
The Common Market Board of Directors took some time to thank every staff member for their tireless efforts the last several months with this amazing video message. In addition to the video, The Board of Directors is thanking each employee by gifting them with a $50 gift card to treat themselves to a nice meal at a local Frederick Restaurant.
Wellness Table
After working tirelessly for a few months, staff was treated to a Wellness Table. All the goodies made available were to help support their immune systems and well-being.
Bonus Employee Discount
One of the several perks staff receive by working at the Common Market is a Common Market discount on all employee-made purchases. Well, all staff received an extra bonus discount this month to help make them feel extra special!
Lunch: Boxcar Burgers
Last Thursday, Common Market employees were treated to lunch from local business Boxcar Burgers! Grass-Fed Burgers, Beyond Meat Burgers, and french fries were very tasty! Thank you employees and Thank you Boxcar Burgers!
Co-Op Swag
Pride month is going strong at the co-op! 🌈 Our staff received brand new shirts and fanny packs as part of Honoring Our Own Month, and you may spot them sporting their new gear as you shop in the store.

The Common Market has become an institution in Frederick, not only because of the quality of its goods, but perhaps even more so by the outstanding quality of leadership and you, the Staff. You are knowledgeable, professional, friendly and committed to excellence in every interaction with customers and each other. You truly make it a pleasure to shop. Although we came by less frequently these past few months, we’ve always noted that the staff at the Market remained upbeat and friendly throughout the lockdown period. I’ve been shopping at the common market since the 1990s when we were across Buckeystown Pike from where we are now.
The Common Market is one of my favorite places to be, and I always get a wonderful wave of positive energy when I walk in the door. It’s so comforting to see the folks who have been here since then, and all the fresh new faces, some of whom will be here long after I’m gone.
YOU are who make the Common Market what it is-a community!
The current Pandemic is temporary, and in a few years, we will be free of this problem and be able to socialize safely again-this is NOT “the new normal” unless we wish it to be.

Those of you who are braving an unseen enemy, so the rest of us can shop and eat….YOU are the true heroes of our society. You did not sign up for a job that put you in danger as the folks in the medical industry and law enforcement did, you were put here by circumstances that were unforeseen, and you have risen to the call and continued to come out and work so the rest of us can eat. My gratitude and appreciation are boundless. I only have a blessing and well wishes for you all.
