The Natural Beekeeping Experience- Session 1 of 3

This 3 session course offers students the opportunity to learn the art of natural beekeeping! Sessions will take place on 3 consecutive Sundays (7/10-7/24) from 1-3pm. The first 2 sessions will take place in the 7th Street Community Room and the 3rd session will be held at a local Frederick Apiary. All sessions are paid for in the ticket price below.  Everyone is welcome!

After this first class students will:

  • Understand what your own motivations are for keeping bees 
  • Understand the basic necessities of what goes into the first year of beekeeping
  • Be able to list the different components of the hive/ hive tools
  • Be able to recognize the different castes of bees
  • Understand the basic structure and life cycle of apis mellifera
  • Explain why beekeeping is an important contribution to a sustainable future
