FreeIn an effort to encourage safety and social distancing, your co-op’s Board of Directors will meet virtually on Thursday, October 22nd at 6:00 p.m. Please RSVP here by noon on Thursday, October 22nd to receive your Zoom link. Your Zoom link will be emailed to you by 12:30pm on the day of the meeting.
Board meetings are generally held on the fourth Thursday of the month at 6 p.m. Early in the agenda, the board reserves space to hear from owners who wish to address the board. This meeting will feature our first “Food for Thought” speaker series presentation! These 20 minute Ted Talk style speeches will take place at the beginning of each board meeting and highlight presenters from diverse and marginalized groups within the Frederick community. Our hope is to center different voices in order to learn about the joys, struggles, and experiences within Frederick and emphasizes our co-op principles of education and concern for community. Due to limited meeting time, there will be no Q&A but contact information will be shared for follow up conversations.
This Thursday’s speaker is Clare Madrigal who serves on the Board of the Frederick Center.
Clare has been an Emergency Room nurse for 12 years, and also serves as the LGBTQ Resource Nurse, and LGBTQ Committee Co-Chair for Sibley Memorial Hospital of Johns Hopkins Medicine. In this role, she provides LGBTQ health education for staff, community outreach, and advocacy for patients, as well as, employees. Also, an Emergency nurse at Frederick Memorial Hospital, Clare has implemented LGBTQ health education, and continues to encourage inclusive practices within the organization. Clare is also certified in Plant Based Nutrition, and passionate animal rights advocate. Clare lives in Frederick with her wife, Cheryl, and dog, Pumpkin.
