We’re bringing back Food for Thought Speakers! Savor a fancy mocktail, delight in some cafe appetizers, all while connecting with our community. This happy hour promises to be an enriching experience, featuring a mix of enlightening talks and valuable information on building stronger communities. The event will be headlined by the remarkable Alison Wexler, the Operations Director of the Frederick County Food Council. Join us for an evening of inspiration and community engagement!

Presentation:

“Feeding Frederick County: How You Can Create a Robust and Resilient Local Food System”

COVID showed us how vulnerable our food supply chain can be, and with climate change it is becoming even more so. What can be done about that? As it turns out, a lot! We have the power to build a more robust and resilient local food system that will feed all of us well into the future. This talk defines the food system problems we face, what the Frederick County Food Council is doing now to help, and most importantly what you can do as individuals.
