April 16, 2020 @ 6:30 pm - 7:45 pm
$5.00 – $10.00Ever wondered how you can have your yard and eat it too? Join author and edible landscape designer Michael Judd in an exploration of combining form, function and production in your yard. Judd will lead a virtual tour through edible landscapes designed and created in the D.C. Metro area while unearthing the ABC’s of how to make your yard more fruitful. Focus will be on water harvesting for successful growing, outdoor mushroom cultivation, creating herb spirals, starting a food forest, choosing uncommon fruits, and much more. Learn new elements to edible landscaping that move away from just annual garden beds and into approachable designs that graft together ease of care, aesthetics and ecological function.
Michael Judd has worked with agro-ecological and whole system designs throughout the Americas for the last 20 years focusing on applying permaculture and ecological design to increase local food security and community health in both tropical and temperate growing regions. The founder of both Ecologia, LLC, Edible & Ecological Landscape Design and Project Bona Fide, an international non-profit supporting agro-ecology research.
