The Common Market is excited to collaborate with Community Partner, Rod’s Sharpening Service, to offer an on-site knife sharpening event. Rod’s Knife Sharpening Service extends the life of your knives, scissors, and gardening tools, providing a local solution to preventing dull knives from ending up in our landfills. The sharpening during this event does not require an appointment and can be done same-day while customers shop. Wait times run between 15 minutes – 1 hour.
SAFETY FIRST: Please wrap your knives in kitchen towels, newspaper, or sheaths and put them in a bag. Please do not bring your knives in a knife block.
Rod’s Sharpening Service sharpens cooking knives, serrated knives, hunting knives, pocket knives, utility knives, cleavers, beauty shears, personal grooming tools, straight razors, household scissors, fabric scissors, carpet shears, garden tools, trimmers, pruners, loppers, axes and adzes, and machetes.
Pricing:
All knives: $7.00 per blade
All scissors except beauty-salon or pet-grooming shears: $7.00
Beauty-salon or pet-grooming shears (scissors): $25.00
Straight razors: $20.00
Most garden tools: $7.00 (machetes or double-bladed items may be extra)
$1.00 off per knife for Common Market co-op members
